I guess I remember why training for the Boston Marathon can be quite a challenge. The bulk of the training needs to be done in the winter. Boy was it cold running outside today. I think this is only a sign of things to come. I'm hoping it warms up over the next few weeks before we reach the depths of winter.
Training went pretty well this week. One day at the gym with weights, one day of 45 minutes of elliptical training and 4, 5, and 7 mile runs. I'm hoping to have somewhat of a down week this week to give my body some time to recover. The biggest issue people face in getting ready for marathons is overtraining and getting injured. I am hoping to avoid that pitfall! We'll be in Maine for Thanksgiving so I'll be looking for race to do that day. I'm sure there's some Turkey trot or something I can find.

Keep Running
ReplyDeleteThanks man. And thanks for the donation!
ReplyDeleteWayde, in 2002 I ran a 4-mile turkey race in downtown Portland. It was a nice race, and that day it was not too breezy or cold. This is the run here: http://www.active.com/page/Event_Details.htm?event_id=1620491&assetId=3ad67c88-b29d-427e-9ee0-37d3c305c530
