A good race and a good week.

Well, back home after a whirlwind tour of Maine with family and friends. As I mentioned, I ran the race in Portland, ME the morning of Thanksgiving. The Maine Track Club really does a nice job with this race. There were over 1000 people running through the streets of Portland. The course was well marked and a lot of fun. It was a 4 miler and while my time wasn't the fastest (42:29), I was able to run the second half faster than the first half. Always a good thing in a race. I felt pretty strong afterwards and I could have gone longer if needed. I'll probably look to put a 10K on the calendar sometime in December or early January.

As far as the rest of the week went, I had planned to keep the mileage down as I was running a race but that didn't happen. I ran (3) 4 mile runs (including the race), one day at the gym, and one 7.5 mile run. An almost 20 mile week!! I haven't weighed myself in a few week and I'm waiting to do that later next week or the week after. But I can certainly feel the difference in my clothes. Well, I'm taking the day off from running today but back to it tomorrow with a gym workout. I haven't scheduled the mileage yet for the week but will be meeting my coach on Tuesday AM for speed workout. Always a challenging day!

More later......
