The first half....

So I had a pretty good week this week. Although I felt pretty run down towards the end of the week and missed out on my weekly poker game to get some extra sleep.

Living only a few miles from the starting line of the Boston Marathon does have it's advantages. I was scheduled for a 13 mile run today so I decided to run the first 13 miles of the marathon. (Thanks to Susan, Halle, and Paige for coming to pick me up!!) It was a pretty tough run today. I was weighed down with extra clothes (It was 10 degrees when I started), and a new water belt (this one has a TON of room and two water bottles but it's heavier than my last one). My water froze up on me and my gatorade got pretty slushy so that didn't help. But I made it through from Hopkinton to the center of Wellesly. I am mighty happy to have that run behind me. But I was glad that I did it since I saw 1/2 of the marathon course. I hope to run it again in a few weeks for my 15 mile run.

The weekly mileage was 29 miles. I hope to taper a bit this week since I'm running in a 15K next weekend.

Thanks to all who have supported me so far!

  1. Way to go, Wayde. It's great to see you cruising right along. It sucks to run in the cold, eh? We actually had to put on long sleeve shirts for our seven-miler yesterday. Brrrr!
