Tough way to end the week

If you've ever trained for anything, you know there's that ONE day during the training where nothing goes right. I had my group run with the Dana Farber Team today and here's just a list of things that went wrong.

Didn't sleep well last night.
Got up late
Couldn't find my Body Glide
Left my water belt and Gu at home
It was cold
It was WINDY
My legs REALLY tightened up around mile 6 of a 14 mile run.

Well you get the idea. The course I ran today was the same 12 mile course I ran a few weeks ago just extended. The first half was brutal because the STRONG wind was right in your face. Then once you turned around the wind was at your back but you had to run the Newton Hills which is never easy. So all in all, it's good to be done.

The good news is once again, my ITB didn't bother me at all, I guess taking one running day and replacing it with a cross training day did the trick.

  1. How on earth did you run that with no fuel belt? Awesome news on the lack of ITB trouble.

  2. The good thing about running with the Dana Farber Team is they have water stops set up during the group run. I was able to hit 4 water stops. They had gatorade, water, pretzels, and M&M's at each stop. That got me through but i still HATED running it with no additional water.
