They joy of winter training.
I forgot how much "fun" it can be training in the middle of winter. The long run this week was 13 miles. I had planned on running the first half of the marathon course but changed my mind last night. Last year while training it was freezing during this same run and I just wanted to keep things close to home. It was 0 degrees when I left and 12 degrees when I got back. Most everything I had froze during the run but all in all, I felt pretty strong on the run. The last mile went pretty slow since I hadn't done much refueling during the run. I've got a group run with the running club tomorrow where I'll do 4-5 miles. That puts me at 28 miles for the week with a long run of 13 miles. It's a step back week next week with my long run "only" 10 miles. I'll also be volunteering for the Dana Farber runners working a water stop on their trainging run.
