I turned 40 last week. Man, having a 4 in front of my age SUCKS! It's actually not that bad. I still feel like I'm younger and I KNOW I act it so let's have some fun with it.
Training is still on track. Last week, I had a gym workout and runs of 4, 5, 7, and 14 miles. Not much to report other than I decided to have a birthday cigar the night before my 14 mile run. NOT a good idea. It took me about 5 miles to work it out of my system, but then the run was fine. Hilly, but fine.
I was in Vegas this week thanks to the generosity of a good friend. I had a 5 mile run and a few gym workouts while I was there. The diet restrictions kind of went out the window but that's ok. I was going to run 18 miles with the running club tomorrow but since it was so warm I made a last minute change and ran 18 by myself today. The temp. was great but man was it windy. I was running into a HUGE headwind for the last 5 miles and it took pretty much everything out of me and it took every thing to get back home.
I'll probably get another easy 4-5 mile run in on Sunday. That will give me close to 30 for the week.
